NEWS: U11 Southern Miniroos’ Friday night fixtures moved to Barwon’s Grovedale Reserve
DUE TO an unfortunate fixture oversight, this coming Friday night’s U11 MiniRoos (Southern Hub) games will be staged at Barwon Soccer Club’s Grovedale Reserve, as opposed to the Shell Road Reserve complex in Ocean Grove.

Originally, the U11s were to be hosted at Barwon and the U7s and U9s at Shell Road, but Surfside Waves last week made an appeal to the FFV to host the entire Hub at its Ocean Grove base, utilising the adjoining AFL oval.
Unfortunately, with AFL Barwon fixturing an U16 Juniors’ match on Friday night at the home venue of the Ocean Grove Grubbers Football Club, this will mean the Waves cannot host the whole Hub as previously notified.
According to an official Surfside Waves club statement, the situation is regrettable.
“Despite a fair bit of background work going on to try and hold the complete hub at Shell Road Reserve, unfortunately it transpired as late as Tuesday night that the proposed use of the AFL oval was now unavailable,” the statement explained.
“As a result, this means the U11's section of the Hub will play out at Barwon SC, where it was originally intended to be held."
All clubs in the Southern Hub zone were notified by the FFV Competitions’ Department on Wednesday.
