Although they fell to a third-successive defeat, the South Burnett Saints can take a heap of positives from their loss to the South Toowoomba Bombers on Saturday.
The Saints travelled to Heritage Oval following a heavy loss to reigning premiers University, but looked a completely different side in the first half of Saturday's contest.
With the Bombers just eight points to the good at the main break, the Saints had every opportunity to take control of the contest and record their first win of the season.
Instead it was the home side that gained the upper hand, piling on eight goals to four in the second half to run out eventual 33-point winners.
The Saints will look to reload for their first home game of the season this weekend, when they take on undefeated Coolaroo at Lyle Vidler Oval on Saturday.
