NEWS: GRFC Medical Advisory Board organising First Aid course for anyone wanting to do it
THE GRFC Medical Advisory Board is organising a First Aid course for all members of the Geelong football community on Saturday May 20 from 9:00am til 12:00pm. The Level 1 course includes an online component that needs to be completed prior to the actual session.
It is intended for any interested person – player, coach, team manager, club administrator, parent, supporter etc. In fact, anyone requiring a First Aid certificate can opt to participate in this course.
A minimum of 10 individuals, however, is needed for the course to go ahead, with the cost of the course just $90. The cost has been kept extremely low due to the online component bringing the face-to-face requirement to a bare minimum.
The age limit is 14 years, however if a parent or guardian is present and does the course as well, a child from 12 years and over can also enrol to do the course.
The group, which consists of several Geelong based health and fitness industry professionals and is convened by podiatrist Paul Graham from Total Care Podiatry, is an advisory group to the Geelong Region Football Committee and involves the Board members volunteering their time and expertise to assisting the local clubs with improving their knowledge base with regards to off field player development issues such as strength and conditioning, improving general fitness and basic injury prevention and management.
Any interested persons are urged to send an email with their name and contact details to the FFV Regional Administrator Tonci Prusac at tprusac@ffv.org.au
Numbers will need to be finalised by no later than Wednesday May 10.
