NAGAMBIE V VIOLET TOWN
Nagambie has hit its straps after its first round loss to reigning premier Avenel.
The Lakers proved too strong for Merrigum, with the likes of Sharni Lloyd, Rachael Mundy and Katie Sullivan steering the ship.
Violet Town will provide much tougher competition for the Lakers and coach Abby Misti knows her girls will need to be on their game.
Meagan Hausner and Brooke Bradshaw have got the Lions playing outstanding netball, but they both know this is going to be a huge test of their improvement.
Tip: Nagambie.
AVENEL V MERRIGUM
Avenel has made the perfect start to its title defence and Merrigum has battled to re-produce the opening day form which saw it defeat Lancaster.
Since then the Bulldogs have lost to the Grasshoppers and last year’s runner-up.
Kate Cordingley is trying to lead by example on the court and she knows only a consistent four quarter performance will give her team a chance of an upset win against the Swans.
Tip: Avenel
MURCHISON-TOOLAMBA V TALLYGAROOPNA
Murchison-Toolamba is back on track after Alice Cunningham took the reins of the A grade squad, replacing Phil Bryant who resigned as coach after round one.
The Grasshoppers had a great win before the Easter break and this will be the biggest challenge the team has faced in season 2017.
Tallygaroopna has stepped into the season without missing a beat. The new additions have all fitted in and coach Julie Telford would be pleased with the ruthlessness her team has shown during the opening month of the season.
Tip: Tallygaroopna.
RUSHWORTH V UNDERA
Rushworth will gain plenty of confidence from the past fortnight of results where it has produced two confidence boosting victories.
Undera remains unbeaten under new coach Kate Murphy and this will be a great contest.
The team who can capitalise on their opportunities will win the game.
Another factor that could decide the contest is who can stand up in defence for the teams.
Tip: Rushworth.
GIRGARRE V LONGWOOD
Longwood has come so close to breaking through for a win in its two games of the season. After a good showing against Undera, the Redleg girls backed it up against Rushworth to go within two goals of claiming a historic win.
Jac Martin and Cait Carracher have been doing an outstanding job in leading the team while Toni Watson has fitted into the defence beautifully.
Girgarre coach Deb McCardel has virtually started the season with a blank canvass.
She will just want her girls to be competitive every time they take the court.
Tip: Longwood.
LANCASTER V ARDMONA
Lancaster has struggled to reach the heights of the teams that have claimed premierships and played off in finals regularly.
The Wombats are re-building having lost a number of key players over the summer.
On the other hand, the Cats have been competitive in all their games and they will be desperate to get the win.
Andrea Woodward will be asking her girls to put in four good quarters to give themselves a chance at victory.
Tip: Lancaster
