Brave Wolves Contest Willetton's Best
Yesterday, Sunday April 2, the majority of Joondalup Wolves WABL teams participated in the Sue Williams Cup against the might of the Willetton Basketball Club, at Willetton.
All teams played with great heart and desire and whilst there were some defeats, the attitude and willingness to compete was highly evident, and extremely pleasing. The Wolfpack Way was back!
The players and coaches involved in the mini-tournament are to be absolutley commended for representing the Wolfpack with pride, especially some of the teams that were missing first choice players, showing great resilience to compete until the final siren, coping well with adversity.
The Wolves did have some very noteworthy performances (including wins to the Under 12 Boys and U18 Women); and all teams competed hard and fairly in the spirit of the day.
The tournament will provide some highly valuable intel and on court competition practice for those teams that chose to compete and represent the club proudly, and the experience will offer a baseline for each team to work from in developing their players throughout the year.
Well done WABL Wolves!
"Thanks to the Willetton Basketball Association and the Wolfpack Joondalup Wolves for a wonderful day of basketball. To have played for both these amazing clubs was an honour and a privilege and I am forever thankful for the memories...I am proud to be a part of these clubs and thankful for the respect shown to me by naming a cup after me"
