In the past, the home club has been allocated 200 records to sell at the gates - ie 800 copies for the entire round. Discussions with some clubs highlighted that at least 50% of the records printed each week were being thrown into the bin as waste. Also, at the end of the game volunteers were left to walk around the grounds to pick up discarded records and dispose of them.
After discussions with the SEFNL Club Presidents, we are trialling a digital record for this season. Digital records are successfully used by other leagues around the country. They add value to club sponsors, league partners, club promotions and allow our clubs to be seen by a larger audience. The number of views in the first round was over 2,300 - at least 1,500 more than our printed record.
In our discussions with the Clubs we recognised that there are some people who don't have a smart phone and would like a team list at the game. Clubs are being sent the record and team lists and will be able to print out a copy. Please speak with your club about this. The record is available from the SEFNL website, where you can print your own copy.
