Northern Fury have kept their undefeated home record alive with a 2-1 victory over SWQ Thunder in Townsville on Saturday.
Fury have won all three of their home fixtures this season while Thunder are still in search of their maiden win of the campaign after six rounds.
Hamish Cassady opened the scoring for the hosts after 20 minutes, benefiting from a rasping long ball from Nicholas Figg.
The lead was doubled 15 minutes later following a period of chaos which saw an original attempt saved onto the crossbar before Figg added a goal to his earlier assist.
The visitors cut the deficit to a goal with a tick under half an hour remaining as Bailey Sainsbury converted from a corner, scoring the first goal against the Fury on their home turf this season.
The Thunder were unable to rescue a point and the result sees them remain at the foot of the ladder while the Fury jump into the top half of the league.
