NEWS: FFV Tech Dept releases details of upcoming TIDC Program and Trials

THE FFV TIDC Geelong Program (Talented Identification Development Centre) is a Football Federation Victoria (FFV) conducted program and is open to all registeredplayers in the Geelong region who meet the age criteria.

It is a Talented Player program for identified players who aspire to become the “Best Of The Best” players and are committed to improve their skills and game through a technical training based program.

The Characteristics of the Program are: 

-      This program is administered and conducted by FFV Technical Department ;

-      All contact through email contact TIDC@ffv.org.au

-      Appointment of suitably qualified coaches to conduct the program in Geelong

-      The program is the based on same principles and session plans throughout all Centre’s in Victoria all use same training block cycles + weekly session plans 

-      Select players will receive a player report at the completion of each block

-      Players are provided with apparel as part of program cost – Spray Jacket – Playing shirt – Shorts and socks

-      All sessions will be conducted at Hume Reserve in Corio

-      Communication - squads will use Team App program as the major form of the communication between players and coaching staff - FFV will manage registration

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY

Skill Acquisition Phase

-      Program open to…

-      BOYS in the 2005 - 2006 agebracket. 

-      GIRLS in the 2004 - 2005 - 2006 age bracket

Game Training Phase

-      Program open to…

-      BOYS in the 2002 – 2003 - 2004 age bracket. 

-      GIRLS in the 2001- 2002- 2003 age bracket

THE PROGRAM

-      Squads will be mixed with up to maximum of 24 players per squad

-      Relative age affect can be taken into consideration

-      Goalkeepers are included in the program

-      Players will receive assessment at end of each block - copy of which will be provided to players own club if requested.

TRIAL PROCESS

The trials will be conducted under the direction of FFV technical staff – appointed coaching staff and with support of identified local coaches.

Nomination Process Players

1. Geelong Community (GRFC) Clubs maximum of four players per age group in the Game Training Phase (2002- 2003 and 2004 i.e. four players born in 2004 plus another four in 2003 and 2002)

In the skill Acquisition Phase - Clubs can nominate up to a maximum of six players per age group (2005-2006 - i.e. six players born in 2005 plus another six in 2006)

2. North Geelong NPL Club and Geelong Galaxy WNPL - TD’s to recommend a number of players from within each age group at their discretion.

Clubs to be sent Excel spreadsheet – clubs to complete form for nominated player’s contact details and to return form to TIDC@ffv.org.au

Players nominated will be allocated timeslot to attend trial.

First Trial date –April 10th, 2017 (Monday)

For players who are away or injured, we will look at it case by case.

The selection of players will be made by FFV technical staff, head coachesand supported by Geelong Galaxy/Nth Geelong coaches.

Skill Acquisition phase:

1.   Coach ability – ‘willing to learn’

That the player has shown willingness to learn/listen and work on improving their technical ability, not just in training but also outside of organised training (i.e. at home). Player works well in a team environment and supports others to help the whole group develop.

2.   Game Intelligence

BP: Their decision making brings team mates in such positions they easily continue to play and/or creates goal scoring chances for teammates or themselves; their decision making without the ball makes them always available and/or brings other player(s) in a better position.

BP0: They are aware when to go in and win the ball in 1v1 situations; understand how to and when to cover players in 1v1 situations. Understands the defensive structure and their role within it.

3.   Body and Ball Control

The player manages in all situations the control of the ball; when under pressure the player is able to keep the ball under control all their movements are made in a balanced manner on and off the ball.

Game Training phase:

 

  1. Mentality of a “WINNER”

 

The player shows the desire to be the best on an off the field. They encourage teammates and are the first to support when a teammate is in a difficult situation on the field. This player never gives up and tries to find solutions regardless of the result.

2.   Game Intelligence

BP: Their decision-making brings team mates into positions where they can easily continue the play. The player reacts very fast; their movements are dynamic in all directions, they are mobile and have the agility to change directions at speed.
The player is able to help recover the ball immediately after loss, and is able to use a change of speed to get past an opponent.

The player has confidence and is influential on and off the field. They are prepared to take responsibility and lead other players, showing a strong mentality in all situations.

6. Emotional Stability

The player isn’t influenced by a negative outcome from external and internal factors, and keeps a very natural and consistent behaviour. They are able to keep focus throughout difficult situations, showing fair play on and off the pitch
