SBL Round 6

WSBL

Tonight’s game is against Rockingham.  Following our gutsy win against Stirling last week we are the only undefeated team in the league.  This gives the Flames extra incentive in tonight’s match to be the first team to knock us off.  Rockingham suffered their first loss of the season last weekend to Mandurah and will be looking to return to the winners list.

Rockingham have been well led by Kaye Tucker, Shelly Boston and Sherelle Johnson and we will need to ensure we restrict the scoring opportunities for these players.  We continue to improve in all areas of our game.  Throughout the game our defensive intensity both individually and as a unit is steadily improving.  Offensively we have many options and we continue to do a good job recognising our best scoring options.

Tomorrow night we head up to Wanneroo in the second game of this weekends double-header so we are in for a tough weekend.  If we play to our potential we will give ourselves every opportunity to remain unbeaten after this weekend.

Thanks for supporting the Tigers.  With the men heading off to Kalgoorlie we have a weekend to freshen up and then head into another double-header weekend against Eastern Suns and Geraldton.

MSBL

After a good win against the Senators last weekend we face another very tough double header in the Rockingham Flames tonight at home and the Wanneroo Wolves tomorrow night away.

Mark Utley has put a strong team together once again that boasts 2 new imports, 2 quality NBL players and a selection of good local talent so we definitely have a tough night ahead.

This week we have a number of injuries to our core players with Greg Regan and Hayden Sleeman under fitness clouds and are in doubt for the game tonight. Greg Regan has been a big player for us in the past couple of weeks with good contributions both on the defence and offence end of the court. Another person who has stepped up for the Tigers is Wayne Biddle and hopefully he will continue on with his efforts also.

With the injection of some new young Willetton players, mixed with our imports and senior players the Tigers will be very competitive this weekend and we are looking to cement ourselves in the top 8 with a couple of wins this weekend. Although we have a very tough weekend ahead with a lot of hard work, heart and discipline it is achievable.
