Twenty Swisse VFL Women’s players have been announced in the initial Virgin Australia AFL Women’s All Australian squad of 40.
With the AFL Women’s season to come to a close on Saturday with the Grand Final between Brisbane and Adelaide – featuring VFL trio Kaitlyn Ashmore, Nicole Hildebrand (Melbourne Uni/Brisbane) and Sarah Perkins (Eastern Devils / Adelaide) – next week (March 28) will see the inaugural W Awards, announcing the competition best & fairest, Rising Star, leading goalkicker and the final All Australian team recognising the best 22 individual performances in each position from the inaugural NAB AFL Women’s Competition.
Darebin leads the way with six players named in the initial squad, followed by Melbourne Uni five, Eastern Devils three, Diamond Creek, Cranbourne two, St Kilda and Geelong one each.
