Beverley Steals A Point For Heat

Brisbane Roar Youth were denied their second win of the season by a late Charlie Beverley equaliser as FNQ FC Heat came back to secure a 1-1 draw at Meakin Park on Sunday afternoon.
The hosts enjoyed much of the ball in the first half, but a well-organised Heat backline prevented the Young Roar from creating many dangerous openings.
That changed shortly before half-time when Finn Beakhurst smacked a shot off the upright, before Nathan Yoon scrambled the ball home to give the Young Roar the lead.
Heat flew out of the blocks in the second half as Charlie Beverley and Jamie Carroll began to link up dangerously, but it looked like their efforts would come to nothing when Carroll was substituted.
Beverley continued to push for an equaliser and was rewarded with seconds left on the clock, poking home from close range to leave the match all square.
The Young Roar host SWQ Thunder at Suncorp Stadium next Saturday, while Heat will welcome Moreton Bay United to Cairns.
