FNQ FC Heat produced a performance of incredible determination on Saturday night, coming from behind to defeat Brisbane Strikers 2-1 at Barlow Park.
Heat didn't make it easy for themselves, as Bronson Koppen was sent from the field with his side trailing following his second bookable offence.
Ari Isman got the Heat back on level terms midway through the second half before being forced from the field with injury shortly before stoppage time.
Heat took the lead six minutes after Isman's equaliser, as Charlie Beverley capped off his great night with the winner.
Strikers have felt the full range of emotions this season - they have played out a win, a draw and now a loss in the opening rounds. Heat's win was their second in 2017 as they aim to improve on last season's Grand Final loss.
Strikers stay local this weekend as they travel across town to Brisbane City, while FNQ FC Heat will also be in the state's capital, visiting Brisbane Roar Youth on Sunday afternoon.
