Brisbane Olympic have started their 2017 campaign with a bang, seeing off Brisbane Roar Youth with a 4-1 win at Goodwin Park on Saturday.
Olympic drew first blood early on through Matthew Heath in the 3rd minute before Nathan Yoon equalised for Young Roar two minutes later.
Matt Mundy was in fine form to put Olympic ahead early in the second half before Heath tucked the ball home to claim his second of the night with 12 minutes remaining.
Andrew Coyne made it four for the hosts in the 85th before Olympic were reduced to 10 men in the dying minutes as an injured Mundy left the field of play.
The result is a boost for the in-form Olympic FC as they aim to improve on their sixth place finish from last season.
Young Roar have the opportunity to bounce back next Saturday when they host Western Pride FC at AJ Kelly Park.
