Season Preview: Stirling
Football West News
Stirling Lions coach Rob Milevski will aim to continue an upward trend since taking the reins at the club in 2015.
Finishing eighth in his first season at the helm, Milevski led the team to seventh last season and will be looking for further improvement this season.
With a simple aim “to push as high up the ladder as possible,” Milevski’s cause will again be helped greatly by the presence of brothers David and Daniel Micevski.
David Micevski contributed 17 goals last season in a Gold Medal-winning campaign as the player of the year. His stunning strike against Floreat Athena also earned him to the Goal of the Season.
Former Perth Glory youth captain Blamo QuaQua and experienced captain Miki Vujacic will also be important cogs in the Lions set-up.
Milevski has tipped Bayswater to win the title, although he expects Inglewood, Perth and Floreat to challenge at the top, and Mandurah City to provide a surprise element.
Stirling will face Floreat Athena in the first match of the PS4 NPL round 1 on Friday night at E&D Litis Stadium.
