The Kyabram District Football Netball League is excited to announce Steve Reeves as its senior interleague coach for the next two seasons.
Reeves has previously had great success within the KDFNL with Murchison, firstly as the KDFNL Coach of the Year in 2012 and then piloting Murchison to the 2013 Premiership flag.
As an added bonus for the 2017 campaign Reeves has an intimate knowledge of the KDFNL opponents having coached Quambatook to a Grand Final berth in the Golden Rivers FL in 2015.
KDFNL President Wayne Ryan identified Reeves as a fantastic appointment for the league.
“After a very strong field of applicants, Steve stood out as a high quality applicant with his in-depth knowledge of both the KDFNL and the GRFL, as well as his strong passion of the game” he said.
“As a previous KDFNL Premiership Coach Steve brings a wealth of experience and local knowledge to the program.”
“As a Board we are very excited at the appointment and are very keen to make amends for a disappointing result last year.”
Reeves is also excited at the opportunity of coming back into the KDFNL.
“I’m very honoured at being appointed and very keen to get amongst it after spending time with the Executive and seeing how serious they are in supporting their representative teams “ he said.
“Measures are already in place to keep track of the best players in the League and I will be focused on having the top players making themselves available.”
“I’m quite ambitious and no stone will be left unturned from my point of view as we aim to rejuvenate Interleague footy in the KDFNL.”
In other KDFNL Interleague coaching news, Dean Wileman has again been appointed as under 18s coach.
In Netball, Julie Telford (A Grade), Rod O’Neil (17 & Under) and Sherryn Wall (15 & Under) have all been reappointed for 2017.
