2017 Representative Coaches Named
On behalf of Metro & North Canterbury Basketball we are pleased announce the coaches for the A & B teams that will be coaching the “Canterbury Combined” teams competing in the National Qualifying Tournament.
The Canterbury region has Two spots for the Basketball New Zealand Nationals, which will be contested between “Canterbury Combined”, Mid and South Canterbury.
We would like to congratulate the below coaches who will be working tirelessly in conjunction with the Rams & Wildcats coaches, along with the Development Managers from the Canterbury Basketball Academy & North Canterbury Basketball to prepare our teams to represent our area to the best of their abilities.
The journey begins with the Term 1 Summer Development League (SDL) followed by Metro & North Canterbury holding their respective representative trials on April 2nd. Metro & North Canterbury will select multiple teams in each age group to participate in a Selection Tournament where the “Canterbury Combined” A & B teams will be selected. The players not selected from the selection tournament will have the opportunity to be selected for their respective Metro & North Canterbury Mainland teams.
Coach applications for the Metro & North Canterbury Mainland teams will be announced at a later date. If you are interested in coaching at the upcoming SDL please contact either Caleb Harrison (coach@crbf.org.nz) or Jules Schwalger-Smith (bball@ncba.org.nz). Information for the upcoming Term 1 SDL & confirmed dates for the Selection Tournament & National Qualifying Tournament will be made available in the coming weeks.
