2017 Willetton WABL Trials
Willetton Tiger squads have now been reopened and interested players are invited to attend the trials. To be considered eligible for selection in a Willetton WABL side you must be registered and participating in the current domestic competition at Willetton, since the start of the 2016/2017 Summer Season (season commenced October 2016).
Willetton has nominated 4 teams in the U12 and U14 age groups for both boys and girls, however is awaiting confirmation of the acceptance of these nominations. The 2017 BWA nomination process guarantees that a minimum of 3 teams will be accepted. BWA will notify Willetton if the 4th team nominations are successful prior to our trial selection process being completed. Three teams have been nominated for U16 men and women and 2 teams for U18 men. There will be one U18 women and one U20 men team.
Please register on the link below, this will ensure you receive all communication for the 2017 WABL preseason. Pre-payment of $25 (non-refundable) is required. This fee is the cost to attend the trials, however please note that squads may be selected or reduced in size at any time following the second week of trials (at coaches discretion) Further costs will be incurred for players selected in WABL teams (more information to be provided later).

Players already selected in U14 Championship teams, following State Championships do not need to register again and are not required to attend the sessions as below. Your coach will advise of your training requirements.

For U20 men (1998 & 1999) – training information will be advised as soon as it is available.
** Coaches will advise details of second and subsequent training sessions and venues. Please ensure you register by 3 February 2017 to receive updates by email.
*** Due to the U14 Touring Qualifying Tournament to be held in early 2017, our U14 Championship division teams have been selected following the 2016 State Championships. Please note that the squads for the U14 Division 2, 3 and 4 teams will hold trials as above
Please attend training in suitable attire (basketball shoes) and bring reversible top and correct size basketball if you have one available. Please bring a water bottle to all trainings. A mouthguard is also recommended.
Following the initial trial session above, coaches will advise players which further training sessions they are to attend – further information will be provided as it becomes available.
WABL selection process in 2017: This year WABL teams will be selected prior to the Cougar Classic (Cockburn Carnival) and grading will be completed for U12, U14 and U16 age groups.
