Law and Lions off to winning start

In what was a low-scoring hit-out, the Lions posted a 3.10 (28) to 2.0 (12) win over Greater Western Sydney in a warm-up game in Brisbane ahead of the start of the inaugural AFL Women's competition next month.

Conditions were wet in the trial game against the Giants making it tough for forwards like Law, a Darling Downs talent in the first Lions women's squad.

The Lions will take on Melbourne away on Sunday, February 5 in the first round of the AFLW competition.

Delissa Kimmince is another Darling Downs talent in the Lions squad but she was unavailable for the trial game against the Giants as she was playing with the Brisbane Heat in the Women's Big Bash League.
