Persistence has paid off for Moe's Declan Keilty, who finally found his way onto an AFL list via the 2016 Rookie Draft.
Keilty, who played 18 senior Gippsland League games for the Lions before moving to the VFL, joined Melbourne's rookie list with the 41st pick in Monday's draft.
The 21-year-old was overlooked in his draft year in 2013 and returned to the Power as an overage player in 2014, before joining Casey Scorpions in 2015, where he played two senior games and spent most of his time in the development league.
This year he broke into the senior side and was a key player in the Scorpions' run to the VFL grand final, impressing Demons recruiting staff with his versatility across key positions.
Congratualtions Declan and best of luck for the future.
