Rain Delays Young Roar NYL Opener
Words: Staff Writers
Brisbane Roar Youth’s Foxtel National Youth League season opener has been rescheduled to Sunday after heavy rain put paid to the scheduled kick-off.
Young Roar were originally set to face Melbourne Victory Youth at Corporate Travel Management at 4:00PM, however, an afternoon storm in the Queensland capital forced the match to be postponed.
Due to the large amount of water on the pitch kick-off was initially delayed for half an hour, before the match was rescheduled for Sunday.

A statement on the Roar website explained, "Referees and officials from both sides believed the conditions would not provide a safe playing surface for their players."
The match is now set to be played at 8:30AM on Sunday (November 13) at the same venue, with the early kick-off taking into account Victory Youth’s travel arrangements.
