The one week course which was conducted by the National Basketball Development Officer Golden Kiloko in Auki, Malaita Province was very successfull. A total of more 60 participants were attended during the 1 week course. The course was constructed in such a way to develop basics coaching skills and also basic knowledge of the rule of the game, thus providing practical experience and training in organizing a competition in winding up of the workshop and also put into practical what they had learned during the 1 week course.
Participants also learned about NOCSI & OBC structure and how to benefit from each respective federations thru technical assistance.
Theory of the referee workshop was held from 8am - 12pm and basic coaching from 1:30pm to 6pm every day.
A small competition was held on Friday as particioants get involved in organising,coaching,refereeing and also playing as part of their practical assesment, prizes were presented to winning teams ans a final function held to thank all paticipants.
