In the match of the round, Somerset had their first loss for the season. In a very tight and even contest, the Penguin women managed to get the very important four points. Penguin were able to control the boards in a game that was well officiated. Penguin’s Maddison Hayward had an excellent game, top scoring with 25 points.

Ulverstone women asserted their dominance over Smithton. In a very even team performance, Sarah O’Neill was best on court. Ulverstone’s Molly Synott top scored with a game high 15 points.

Devonport were far too strong against the Burnie women. In a good standard game, Taylor Mole completely dominated the contest, scoring a match winning 29 points. Hayley Shephard played well for Burnie with 16 points.

In a very close contest between Wynyard and Latrobe, until three quarter time, only one point separated the two teams. The Wildcats came home with a wet sail to win by 12 points. Libby Haines had another good game for Wynyard, scoring 13 points. The ever consistent Brooke Brown top scored with 17 points for the Demons.

In front of a disappointing crowd, the Smithton men’s team managed to upset Ulverstone. Smithton’s Brad Hardy dominated the scoring with a game high 24 points. Harry O’Neill in a lone hand for the Red Hoppers continued his good form with 22 points.

The Devonport men’s team took it right up to the much more fancied Burnie Tigers. The experience of the Tigers got them over the line with a slender 5 point victory. Matt Zerna had his best offensive game for the Warriors, scoring 18 points. The reliable Tre Armstrong top scored with 19 points.

Penguin men regained their form, to easily account for Somerset. A big second quarter by Penguin broke the game open, outscoring the Heat by 17 points. Tyler Kelly produced a good game, scoring 23 points. Tyler Coffey played his best game for Somerset scoring 16 points.

The Latrobe men have found the form that will give them a big chance of taking out the title this year. They completely dominated the Wildcats in a very polished performance. Brady Armstrong’s strong form will put him in contention for the Most Valuable Player for this season, he had a game high 26 points.

There will no Friday night games this week.
