The Mount Gambier Junior Lakers representative teams enjoyed multiple successes at the Murray Bridge Junior Basketball Carnival last weekend. This was the opening event for the Mount Gambier Junior Lakers’ 2016/17 season.

The Lakers teams which did not play in grand finals, Under 12 Boys and Girls, Under 14 and 16 Girls Division 2 teams, all showed marked improvement over the Carnival and the benefits will be reflected in the coming Millicent and Mount Gambier Junior Basketball Tournaments.

These achievements suggest that, with regular hard work in the areas of improving individual skills and gaining a better understanding of team strategies, Junior Lakers teams could look forward to further successes. The competitions in the Millicent and Mount Gambier Junior Basketball Tournaments later this month and in November are expected to be challenging with the participation of Country Victoria Basketball Associations.
