NEWS: Three Galaxy players selected in Victoria's Bass Strait Cup squad
GALAXY United will be well represented in the upcoming Women’s Bass Strait Cup, with three players from the Geelong club's NPLW Grand Final team selected to take part in the upcoming annual match between Victoria and Tasmania’s open senior women's teams.
Football Federation Victoria last week named its representative team to play Tasmania in the Bass Strait Cup after the PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria Women's clubs nominated players for the team, which trained for the first time last Thursday.
Geelong Galaxy United player Jessica Tay was the only returning player from last year's successful Victorian team that claimed the Bass Strait Cup with a 4-1 win. She is joined by Galaxy teammates, Aneta Komijat and Caitlin Pickett
PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria Women's coach of the year Mark Torcaso from Calder United will coach the team. Players involved with Westfield W-League squads were not considered for selection.
Tasmania will host this year's Bass Strait Cup at KGV Park in the Hobart suburb of Glenorchy on Saturday October 15, 2016, with kick-off set down for 1pm. Further details of a live stream for the match will be announced in due course.
