First Bounce: 1:15pm
This is the Grand Final match up that everyone was hoping for with the premier 2 teams from season 2016 battling it out in the big game. Goondiwindi have shown great improvement throughout the season and were impressive when the game was on line against a gallant Dalby last week while Toowoomba have been an unstoppable force since entering the women’s competition in 2015.
Toowoomba have been there and done it before after winning last year’s grand final and they have certainly carried that form into season 2016 going through to this point undefeated. Goondiwindi’s only losses this season have been to the Tigers on 4 occasions but to the Hawks credit they are getting closer to the reigning premiers every time they play.

KEY MATCH UPS
Jade Struths V Tirese Va’Ai – What a match up this will be with Struths dominating the regular season games against Goondiwindi booting an amazing 29 goals in 3 games earlier this season. However Goondiwindi found a way to clamp down on Struths influence in front of the big sticks in the 2nd semi-final played 2 weeks ago with the dominant forward restricted to just 1 major in this encounter. If Struths has her kicking boots on this could spell disaster for the Hawks.
Jessica Bell V Mariah Pasfield – The battle of the tough running midfielders will be important, both players love the physical contest and are classy users by hand and foot. Both have good pace and can change games on their own boot with their ability to make smart decisions with ball in hand. Pasfield is slightly more of an inside midfielder than Bell but does still love the open field while Bell could also be used as a forward weapon after booting an amazing 25 goals in 1 game earlier this season.
Allison Moore V Nicole Richards – What a line-up this is with the last 2 years Heather Green medallists going at it in the engine room. Expect these two players to crash and bash into contests as they have done all season. Richards is a general for the Tigers while Moore has had a breakout season for the Hawks and is not intimidated by any player. Richards has the body strength to worry Moore in the 1 on 1 contest but Moore may have the edge if she can bring the ball to the ground. This battle alone could go a long way to deciding the eventual premier such the influence these players have on the contest.
