Dalby Swans Vs Highfields/Lockyer
First Bounce: 9:45am
The Dalby Swans take on the Highfields/Lockyer in the U14 McDonald’s Shield. The Swans have had the luxury of having the week off while Highfields/Lockyer won their way through to the Grand-Final with a nail biting 4 point win over the South Toowoomba Bombers.
The Swans have been the team to beat all year losing only 1 game all year however that game was against the team they play in the Grand-Final Highfields/ Lockyer. The Swans are 1st ranked attacking and defensive team in the competition while Highfields/Lockyer were ranked 3rd for both.
Both teams have star players across the paddock but it will be lesser known players that will need to lift to give their team he advantage.
Can the Swans continue their winning ways or will Highfields/Lockyer become the fairy-tale story winning it all from 3rd place?
This game is not to be missed.

KEY MATCH UPS
Jonty McDougal V Jack Hall– All I can say is strap yourself in and watch these two go to work. They are big bodied midfielders who run all day and will use their bodies to crash through packs, tackle anyone who tries to run the other way and then kick big team lifting goals. This is a mouth-watering contest. They do not know what a backward step is and will throw everything they can at each other. They find a way to make space out of nowhere and they love to take the game on all the time. This is your Selwood vs Hodge match up and they will go a long way to deciding who wins this match for their team.
Ben Matthews V Deklan Branson– A battle of the goal kicking midfielders will one be one battle not o be missed. Both will play on ball and will look to push forward to kick goals. Matthews was the leading goal kicker for 2016 with 70 majors while Branson kicked 33 for the year. They run all day, skills are exceptional and they bring their team mates into the game. Matthews has been a key to Swans dominance all year. He uses his footy smarts to find space and hit his team mates up. Branson is the skilled big man who is clean below his knees and uses the ball exceptionally well.
Zimmorlei Farquharson V Jayden Lawson – Farquharson and Lawson are their respective teams outside runners. They are the players that will look to create the run and carry for their teams. Farquharson is a super talent. She uses her pace to break open lines and deliver the ball forward. Lawson will look to get into space and use his smarts to deliver the ball deep into the forward line. They will carry the ball from the defensive arc to the forward arc and create space for their team. Whoever can gain the most meters for their respective teams will go a long way to deciding this match.
