National 1 Plumbing Division 1
Semi Final 2
Morphettville v West Adelaide
3pm Sun 4th September, Kellett Reserve
Last time they met
Morphettville Park 12.9-81 Defeated West Adelaide 1.0-6
Players to Watch
Morphettville Park:
Lexia Edwards looked formidable booted 5 the last time these two met. If West Adelaide can’t shut her down, they can’t shut Morphies down.
West Adelaide:
Danielle Cresp’s golden boot is yet to sink ones against the Roos. The Bloods will have limited forward entries on Sunday so quality will be key- if they can get Crespy on the end of some good service she will be able to deliver.
The Match
The Bloods have a great rivalry with the Roos and will not doubt be looked to shake the Roos up this weekend. Morphettville have not looked like being beaten since their undermanned outfit dropped one match earlier in the year. If any team can cause an upset it is Westies, but expect the Roos to hold on strong and head into the grand finale as the clear favourites for the cup.
Semi-Final 1
Adelaide Uni v Salisbury
7pm Sat 3rd September, University Oval (Park 12)
Last time they met
Adelaide University 5.6-36 Def Salisbury 0.0-0
Players to Watch
Adelaide University:
Sophie Li missed the first half of season but has been steadily building form since. With her strong overhead marking and ability to shrug a tackle it is only a matter of time before she takes a game by the scruff of the neck and tears it apart.
Salisbury:
Demi Sonneman showed last week she can step up under pressure and put the ball through the big sticks. If she can show that attack on the ball and poise with her deliver for four quarters she could give Salisbury a real crack at the win.
The Match
Salisbury delivered Adelaide Uni’s first ever Div. 1 loss- it was by 2 points after the siren. Surely that memory alone will have both teams set for a big match. The Magpies showed again last week that they can come from behind and snatch the game late in the last quarter. Adelaide Uni will need to work hard for four quarters if they want to shut Salisbury out. They’ll also have to clean up their game in front of goals after kicking 2.14 in their first final last week. Another one worth watching, this match could go either way.
