Former Hyundai A-League referee Adam Kersey will officiate his second straight PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland Grand Final between FNQ Heat and Redlands United this Saturday.

Kersey, who has refereed 11 matches in Australia’s national top tier, has been selected alongside assistant referees James Sherry and Joey Lee, while Alex King has been named fourth official.

The 27-year-old was in the middle for last year’s decider and is looking forward to adding to his big game experience at Perry Park.

“It’s a great honour to be selected again,” Kersey said.

“I feel I’ve performed pretty well as the season has gone on. I’ve had a few of the bigger games and they’ve all gone well.

“I’ve done plenty of matches with (James, Joey and Alex) over the years so it definitely makes it easier to get through the game when you’ve got those experienced guys on your line to help out.”

Football Queensland State Referees Development Officer David Wiebe congratulated Kersey on a standout season.

“This has been a stellar year for Adam,” Wiebe said.

“His performance this year has rated him number one on the NPL panel and this game is a reflection of that performance.”

All four members of Saturday’s refereeing team have extensive experience in the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues, while Sherry was also involved in the 2015 Grand Final.

“We have put together the best officials based on their performances throughout the year,” Wiebe said.

“With their combined experience I have complete faith in the referees for a game of this magnitude.

“James (right) and Joey (left) would both sit comfortably alongside the exceptional amount of talent we have on the A-League panel.

“Alex (second from left) already has experience at that level and has a great future in front of him. This appointment reflects his commitment and performance throughout the year.”

Soccer World, proud suppliers of this year’s refereeing apparel, will be featured on each of the quartet’s Grand Final kits.
