In two close contests, Collingwood and Coburg came away with the four points in Saturday Peter Jackson VFL Round 19 games.
It was a finals preview today at Victoria Park, with Port Melbourne unable to end the Magpies winning streak – Collingwood extending its run to 11 straight to sit on top of the ladder on Saturday night of Round 19.
Coburg fought back after a poor first term to defeat Frankston and join a logjam of five clubs – Box Hill Hawks, Richmond, Werribee and Northern Blues - outside of the top 8 with six wins – just a game behind Essendon who will aim to hold its spot over the final three games of the season. The Bombers face Williamstown Sunday in the video stream clash, and a loss will provide both Box Hill and Richmond a chance to jump into the top 8 at the end of the round if they win against Sandringham and Geelong respectively. Werribee is also a chance to draw level on points with Essendon, but cannot move into the 8 due to an inferior percentage if they win against Casey Scorpions.
