MANSFIELD v SHEPPARTON
With four teams locked on seven wins, this is a huge game for Shepparton.
It is also a huge game for Mansfield as it continues its late charge towards an unlikely finals berth.
Defeat has more implications for the Eagles, while a loss for the Bears will make their task that little bit harder, especially after Echuca’s upset win at Seymour.
The Murray Bombers have put themselves in the driver’s seat to qualify for the finals if it can overcome United after the bye.
For the Bears, the start will be important, with Mansfield in really good form of late, winning three of their past four matches.
The Eagles have found a key forward in the form of Steve Tolongs, while the likes of Jamie Sheahan, Jesse Plostins, James Herridge, Jacob Howes and Ross Brown have been others to rise to the occasion in the past month.
Shepparton has been outstanding and while the likes of Ted Lindon, Nick Allan, David Gallagher and James Wong are leading by example, it has been some of the club’s youngsters in Luke Smith, Liam Duiguid, Nick Berry and Julius Battista who have blossomed in the second half of the season.
