Brisbane Strikers could potentially welcome Caltex Socceroos superstar Tim Cahill to Perry Park after being drawn against Melbourne City in the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16.

Strikers received their first ever Westfield FFA Cup home tie in Wednesday night’s draw at FOX SPORTS studios in Sydney, with PlayStation® 4 National Premier Leagues rivals Redlands United drawn away to Canberra Olympic.

Cahill, Australia’s leading international goalscorer, is heavily rumoured to be on the verge of signing for City and could be in the frame for a debut in Brisbane.

Strikers recorded a resounding 6-0 win away to Darwin Rovers to book their Round of 16 berth and are one of three Member Federation outfits facing Hyundai A-League opposition.

Redlands, meanwhile, will be brimming with confidence for their clash after last week’s stunning upset of Adelaide United.

Matt Chandler’s men shocked the reigning Hyundai A-League champions with a come-from-behind 2-1 win as Paul O’Brien completed the dramatic turnaround in extra-time.

Hosts Canberra, currently second in PS4 NPL Capital Football, narrowly edged Queensland community club Surfers Paradise Apollo 1-0 to advance beyond the Round of 32.

The Round of 16 will comprise two match nights with four matches per night on either of the following dates – 23/24/30/31 August.

FOX SPORTS will broadcast one match live and exclusive in full on both match days in the Round of 16 with LIVE streaming and updates of the other matches.

Specific match details in regards to the dates, venues and kick-off times will be confirmed by Football Federation Australia in the coming days.
