The Shepparton Swans were on track to figure in the finals, but now it has a battle on its hands after back-to-back losses.
The 2014 premier has put in two of its poorest performances of the season during the past fortnight and coach, Hayden Best will be demanding a better output from his troops today in what looms as a danger-game.
They aren’t playing well enough to flirt with their form and if they don’t play at their best then the Eagles will complete the double over them.
The likes of Tom Preece, Tom Davies, Brad Riddings, BJ Squire, Josh Chapman and Jessie Finnen have been the team’s consistent performers while Best has also blooded some new faces.
Mansfield produced another strong performance to upset the hopes of top six hopeful Echuca last weekend.
The Eagles will not fear coming to Shepparton to take on the Swans, having won on the road at Deakin Reserve earlier in the year.
Last week’s rising star nominee Patrick Marks starred in the win last weekend with four goals while others to fire included Travis Hine, Jamie Sheahan and Luke Walsh.
