Jack Norman has put together a string of games in his short senior career that has many comparing to his father Glenn.
His father was a tough and un-compromising footballer and if you stood him, you knew you had been in a game when you came off.
The 16-year-old has been outstanding since his return to the team after he debuted against Benalla earlier in the year.
After struggling to adjust, the talented midfielder returned to play in the under 18s before winning back his place in the last month.
He has more than made a contribution, with the Year 11 Notre Dame College student playing arguably his best game of the year against the all-conquering Kyabram on the weekend.
Another game where the talented youngster shined was a fortnight ago against Mooroopna where he kicked four goals.
Norman says knowing coach Marc Quarrell through his father has helped him adjust to step up to the senior competition.
“He has just told me to not worry about how many possessions I get or goals I kick, but just focus on putting my head over the ball,” he said.
He says having some of his thirds team-mates in the line-up has made the adjustment somewhat a little easier for him.
Norman says his goal is simple and that is to continue to play good football and hopefully help the team to an unlikely finals appearance.
If they are unsuccessful in their pursuit of finals, he hopes to go back and help the thirds have a successful finals campaign.
Success is something that Norman has been fortunate to enjoy while coming through the junior ranks, having played in an under 14 premiership and last year enjoying that winning feeling again in the under 16s.
