TARRAWINGEE escaped Bonnie Doon with a win and the four points, despite the pressure of the ninth-placed Bombers who pushed the Bulldogs to within eight goals on Saturday.
The Bombers held the lead all match, at every break until the final siren sounded signalling a Bulldogs fight back.
Bonnie Doon outscored Tarrawingee 19-14 in the first quarter, but were unable to keep the momentum going for the remainder of the game as the Bulldogs clawed their way to within one goal at the three quarter time break.
Stout Bulldogs defence sealed the game, forcing the Bomber shooters to just 44 per cent goal efficiency for the final term, allowing just seven goals, while the Bulldogs rallied for a 16 of 20 goal attempt quarter to run away with an eight-goal, 54-46 win.
Bulldogs centre Maddie Canning continued her strong run of form with another best on court performance; Canning was backed up all day by defender Laura Fisher and shooter Kaylee Seymour.
Seymour finished with 27 goals, while Kate Mulqueen (14 goals) and Amanda Bell (13) were also accurate in goals.
