Jovica Uzur nailed a brace and Mladen Spasojevic netted a single for Corio, while Gary Harper scored the consolation goal for Barwon. Corio sits fifth on the ladder while Barwon remains third.
Competition leaders Bell Park, meanwhile, suffered an unexpected loss – only their second for the season – going down 0-1 to Drysdale SC at the Bell Park Sports Centre.
Drysdale took the contest to the All Whites by using lots of close passing, which ultimately enabled Carson Backhouse to put one away for his team and win the game.
The final matchup between bottom side Barwon Heads and second placed Elcho Park was abandoned due to floodlighting failure at Village Park and is expected to be replayed at a later date.
Looking forward to this weekend’s round of matches, the entire round will be contested on the Sunday afternoon.
Bell Park will travel to Elcho Park to take on Elcho Park Cardinals in a top versus second clash, Drysdale will host Barwon at Howard Glover Reserve, while the final game between Corio and Barwon Heads will be staged at Corio’s Hume Reserve.
All three games will kick off on Sunday at 3.00pm.
