TALLYGAROOPNA v STANHOPE
Tallygaroopna will be eager to respond after failing to overcome Avenel last weekend.
Coach, Julie Telford would have been bitterly disappointed by her team’s four quarter effort and as a result of the loss they have dropped out of the top two.
The experienced mentor has had to reshuffle her starting seven with the absence of some key players and she has utilised Bec Humphrey in defence with both Bree Giles and Kayla Woodhouse out of the line-up.
Stanhope has been able to brush aside a number of its rivals this season and continue to blossom under the guidance of Kerrie Gray.
However, for the Lions to be considered a genuine contender they must beat a team above them on the ladder.
They have lost to both Avenel and Nagambie this season and this may be the team’s best chances to overcome one of the more fancied rivals.
Tip: Stanhope.
MURCHISON v AVENEL
After some indifferent form of late, Murchison bounced back emphatically against Rushworth last week.
Coach Phil Bryant would have been delighted to see the team return to form after winning one of their past five matches.
This is going to be another big challenge for the Grasshoppers, facing off against one of the premiership fancies.
Kathryn Hard and her team were outstanding in brushing aside Tallygaroopna and they will go into this game full of confidence.
For the Grasshoppers it is important they play four consistent quarters to ensure the Swans are allowed to control the state of the game.
Tip: Avenel.
GIRGARRE v ARDMONA
This should be a good contest between the ninth and tenth ranked teams on the ladder.
Girgarre is marginally ahead of Ardmona on the table having won last start against Longwood.
The Roo girls will take plenty of confidence into this game after playing some good netball while Ardmona will need to respond after it was well beaten by Lancaster.
The Cats have won only two-and-a-half games, but in most of their games this year they have been competitive.
The winner of this match is likely to be the team that makes the least amount of errors and can capitalise from their centre passes.
Tip: Girgarre.
In the other matches, Nagambie should prove too strong for Longwood to remain unbeaten, Rushworth will find it difficult to combat Lancaster and Violet Town needs to bounce back after it was comprehensively beaten last start.
Tips: Nagambie, Lancaster and Violet Town.
