Mackay Magpies duo, Brooke Laffan and Lois Beckingham have been rewarded, after stand-out State Championships at Harrup Park for Capricornia.
Brooke Laffan, 14, also a member of the AFL Queensland Youth Girls Academy and Mackay Magpies junior, was selected in the Queensland white team to contest the National Championships in July. Laffan's selection follows a stand-out 2015, which saw the Holy Spirit student selected as the MVP at the November AFL Queensland State Championships for the, then Mackay Vipers.
Lois Beckingham, has come from a different background, only kicking the sherrin for the first time at last years AFL Queensland Youth Girls Cup gala day, for secondary schools.
Beckingham was selected in last years Under 17 Mackay Vipers team, that contested the State Championships in Brisbane. The netball convert, stood out at centre-half back and again impressed at the recent 13-16years school girls State Championships at Harrup Park.
Both Laffan and Beckingham will join their Queensland team-mates on the Sunshine Coast for the week long National Championships in July.
