Tegan Riding smashed home an incredible seven goals as Eastern Suburbs FC Women demolished Peninsula Power Women 13-0 at Heath Park on Monday night.
The former Canberra United player ran riot with the points already sealed after Emma Pittman, Harkana Dixon, Ashlee Watkins and Georgina Amos delivered a four goal advantage in little more than a quarter of an hour.
Watkins complemented Riding’s haul by completing her hat-trick in the second half as the relentless Easts notched their largest win of the season to comfortably retain their hold on fourth place in the league standings.
The result marks the fifth time Power have conceded double figures in a frustrating season for the Moreton Bay-based club.

What They Said
“We’ve had a couple of weeks without a game, so it was important to get back out on the field. As players there is only so much you can in training and you just want to play. It was good to get the game in and get the game done. Our game plan tonight as based around decision making – knowing where the opposition players are, knowing where the pockets are and hitting balls into those areas. We had lots and lots of chances and scored lots and lots of goals.” – Garrath McPherson, Eastern Suburbs FC Women coach
“I wasn’t really keeping track of goals. In terms of development and what we’re working on with these girls, and it will sound odd for other people, but we had a 25 minute period in the second half there where I was pretty happy with how the girls played. There was a gulf in class for sure and experience but in terms of where we were at the start of the season to now, I’m pretty happy with the development and I’m sure we’re going to get some positive results in the second half of the season." – Michael Cook, Peninsula Power FC Women coach
