There will be extra VFL representation on the field this Sunday at the Adelaide Oval, with three VFL umpires officiating in the game.
Field umpire Daniel Butcher, boundary Ben Macdonald and goal Simon Plumridge will make the trip over the border to officiate in the game.
The trio has plenty of big game experience, with all three having umpired in last year’s VFL Legendairy Grand Final at Etihad Stadium.
AFL Victoria State League Umpiring Head Coach said it is a great honour for all three to be selected in this weekend’s state match at Adelaide Oval.
“All three umpires had a fantastic season in 2015 culminating in their appointment to the VFL Grand Final,” Nash said.
“They have continued to umpire to a high standard this season and are very well respected members of our group.
“They will represent the VFL and the VFL umpiring team extremely well.”
Daniel has umpired over 50 VFL matches and was also the Field Umpire of the Year last season and umpired the TAC Cup decider in 2014.
Ben has umpired close to 150 VFL matches including the 2012 and 2015 VFL Grand Finals.
Simon is closing in on 100 VFL matches and was the Goal Umpire of the Year last season as well as umpiring the VFL Grand Final. Simon also umpired the TAC Cup Grand Final in 2014.
