This year is the 40th running of the West Coast Cross Country Run. The first was held at the school with it then shifting to Tcharkuldu Rock where it has been held ever since.
We are proud to have kept this event going even though it has become a huge undertaking by our school as we have become smaller and smaller. With encouragement from many of the schools competing, we are endeavouring to keep it going for as long as possible.
We would like to extend to your senior members an invitation to enter runners from your club to compete in the Open Event. The day begins with the school events at 11am. Depending on numbers, the Open runners will run with the Senior runners. We have individual certificate awards for the 1st to 5th placegetters. Several businesses have been approached in the area and we are hoping for all events to be sponsored (1st placegetters in each event).
A small display of past correspondence and certificates from its inception in 1977 will be on display in the clubrooms, where there will be a lunch of soup and steak sandwiches along with the presentations.
We sincerely hope to you are able to encourage some of your club members to enter and help us celebrate this special milestone.
Please either reply by phone or emailing myself at: louise.watson730@schools.sa.edu.au. All entrants will need to pay $3.00 entry fee on the day and register before the event to be allocated a number. The attached form must be completed and handed in when registering. All entrants will receive a 40th commemorative wrist band. We will also be selling Beanies for $12 each.
Yours sincerely,
LOUISE WATSON
Principal
