Field umpire Eleni Glouftsis and goal umpire Kate Griffiths will officiate in Channel 7’s Peter Jackson VFL match of the round between Footscray and North Ballarat this weekend.
Glouftsis made history earlier this year when she became the first female field umpire to officiate in an AFL match, taking the field for the NAB Challenge match between Carlton and Essendon at Ikon Park. Griffiths, meanwhile, has become a regular goal umpire at VFL level over the last 12 months.
The Bulldogs and Roosters will be looking to use Sunday’s match at VU Whitten Oval to kick-start their seasons, with both teams sitting outside the top eight with only one win on the board.
The Channel 7 broadcast will commence at 11.30am and in addition to live and exclusive match coverage this year, fans will be able to watch the VFL match of the round streamed live on mobile, tablet and PC via PLUS7 Live.
If you miss any games live, the VFL match of the round will be replayed on 7mate on Tuesday morning at 1am or you can watch a replay on 7 Catchup hours after the completion of the game.
