Men’s Division One teams Bell Park and Barwon Heads clashed on Sunday at the Bell Park Sports Club in Batesford, which ended in a 4-1 win to the visitors. Robert Armstrong netted a brace while Andrew Ingham and Gary Hamilton both scored singles to ensure the Hammerheads returned to home with all three competition points.

The Men’s Masters Division had only one game contested, between the Elcho Park Cardinals and Drysdale. The end result was a thoroughly entertaining 5-2 scoreline, with the Josip Skoko inspired Cardinals running out winners.

The teams went into half time with the Cardinals up at 4-2 with Drysdale’s goalscorers being Michael Parker and Dean Wearne while for the Cardinals Ivan Herceg scored a brace and James Sacco and ex-Socceroo and former A League star, Josip Skoko, got singles apiece.

In the second half, the mercurial Skoko netted his second goal for the match to stamp his authority on the spectacle which also included 77-year-old living legend, Everitt Nelson, making his long awaited debut for the Drysdale Masters’ team!

The last game of the Catch Up round was played last Wednesday when North Geelong Warriors took on Barwon in the Women’s Division Two competition. The game was played at Grovedale Reserve, which favored the home side Barwon. The end score was 3-2 for the hosts, with Alyse Lyndal Cook, Rachael Robertson and Paige Thompson all scoring singles apiece for Barwon, while Jadranka Erceg scored a brace for the Warriors.

As a result of this win Barwon sits 4th on the ladder while North Geelong is in 6th position.
