There was little movement on the table – but still plenty of food for thought – in Round 9 of the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues.
FNQ FC Heat – 2 (Christopher O’HARE 17’ 87’p)

A brace from Christopher O’Hare has guided FNQ Heat to a crucial 2-0 win over Brisbane Strikers at Endeavour Park.
O’Hare struck a goal in each half for the hosts to see off the challenge of Strikers – wwithin striking distance of Heat’s place as league leaders going into the fixture on the back of a five match winning streak.
The result sees Heat maintain their hold on top spot for the ninth straight week, while Strikers remain third ahead of their Westfield FFA Cup clash in Brisbane on Tuesday night.

Coast FC saw off a determined SWQ Thunder 3-2 in a see-sawing contest at Clive Berghofer Stadium.
The teams went goal for goal until Kobe Fuller backed up his midweek goal in the Westfield FFA Cup with the match-winning strike entering the final quarter hour to seal Fire’s first win in four league outings - but second straight win all competitions.
Thunder’s third straight league defeat sees them drop to ninth place in the league standings – one point behind Fire, who move to eighth.

Redlands United FC – 3 (Nicolas BECHAR 20’, Graham FYFE 65’ 68')

Redlands United have backed up their midweek Westfield FFA Cup win with a matter-of-fact 3-0 win over Northern Fury at Townsville Sports Reserve.
Fury weren’t without chances or possession, however failed to take advantage as Redlands goalkeeper Matthew Lugo notched his second consecutive clean sheet of the campaign.
The win is Redlands sixth in a row in PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues and sees the Red Devils remain just a single point behind league leaders FNQ Heat.
Brisbane City FC – 2 (Antonio MURRAY 23’, Motoki KAKEHI 68’)

Brisbane City followed up their breakthrough midweek Westfield FFA Cup win with a stoic 2-0 result over Brisbane Roar Youth at Corporate Travel Management Stadium.
In a box-to-box contest of few chances, City struck a goal in each half to back up a solid defensive performance and record their first ever win against Young Roar in five attempts.
The result notches back-to-back PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues wins for City and extends their unbeaten run to four games in all competitions.

Olympic FC – 1 (Scott BOW 90+2’)

Gold Coast City overcame the disappointment of their midweek Westfield FFA Cup exit to see off Olympic FC 2-1 at Duncan McKenna Field.
The result furthers City’s run of form to eight matches without defeat in PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues and lifts the club into fourth place, edging ahead of Brisbane City on goal difference.
For Olympic the defeat follows a humbling elimination from the Westfield FFA Cup on Wednesday and sees the former powerhouse remain second from bottom in the league standings.
