NOTICE: GRFC Clubs urged to host Referee courses
WITH the increased number of teams and leagues registered in all divisions of the Geelong Region Football Committee (GRFC) competitions so far in 2016, one of the major issues that has been identified is the obvious lack of referees.
As such, we as a sport need to attract more referees to cope with the explosion of interest in the game.
The FFV Referees Department is able to administer and provide instructors for any club wishing to hold a Level 4 Referee course (this is the introductory level course). Clubs can hold a course at their club for 10 – 30 people. The cost is $125 per person.
Each course need a classroom setting (club rooms or similar) and a pitch so the FFV Refs Dept can complete the theory (3-4 hrs) as well as the practical training (3-4 hrs) aspect of the course.
A data projector is needed. If possible to book, a nearby school can often work really well for these type of courses.
If any of your clubs is interested in holding a Level 4 course, please email the FFV’s Referee’s Operations and Education Coordinator, Stephen Privitera, with the details of the date and venue for the course. He will arrange the online registration details where each participant can register and pay.
Stephen’s email is sprivitera@ffv.org.au
Any club which has less than 10 participants may wish to combine with another club.
We could also hold the course at a central venue for multiple clubs to attend.
