PS4 NPL TAS Team of the Week Round 4

Congratulations to Lawrence Shuruma, his four goals earning him the Mitsubishi Motors Player of the Week for Round 3.

Goalkeeper

Graham Wright - Hobart JEEP Zebras

The Scottish keeper made a welcome return to the Zebras side and provided a commanding presence, helping to marshal the back line as they denied a dangerous Devonport side. Was sharp off his line a couple of times and was solid in the air all day as he made sure his first game of the season was a successful one.

Defence

RB- Zachary Drake - Olympia Warriors

Olympia's right back was the best afield in the derby, capping a lively display down the right hand side where he was a constant threat, with a spectacular goal. The Canadian stealing the ball in the middle of the park before launching a scorcher into the bottom corner from 25 yards.

CB- Nicholas Naden - Clarence United

Moved into the heart of defence, Naden was a rock at the back, reading the game well and making several key last ditch interventions. His obvious comfort on the ball was a calming presence for the makeshift back four and he set up Clarence's goal with a storming run.

CB- Henry Fagg - Hobart JEEP Zebras

The Zebras are going to have some tough decisions to make with Tyler Harrison back after another accomplished display from the in form centre half. Fagg's positional sense was outstanding and he did a great job in curtailing the influence of the dangerous Brayden Mann.

LB- Pat Lanau Atkinson - Northern Rangers

Cheating again with the left back spot, but the full back produced an all action display that demanded selection. In the first half in particular he was everywhere, at the centre of all Ranger's best attacking moments and defending desperately. He also found the back of the net with a well taken penalty.

Midfield

CM- Kobe Kemp- South Hobart

Another impressive display from the youngster who once again showed his penchant for a long range goal, scoring with a spectacular strike to cap off another brilliant display in the heart of the South Hobart engine room.

CM- Christopher Downes- Kingborough Lions

Afforded more time and space to work in, the young midfielder flourished in a more attacking role this week. Having been frustrated at playing deep in the opening few rounds, he was able to influence the contest with a fine display of passing. Scored from the penalty spot and came close to adding to his tally from open play.

CM- Nick Morton - South Hobart

Two goals and two assists for a man who has been dominating the competition this season and must be an early favourite for player of the year honours. He tore Launceston apart with his movement and every time he was afforded too much space he made them pay.

Forwards

RW- Darcy Hall – South Hobart

Like Morton, Hall managed two goals and two assists in another eye catching display from the winger who has really taken another step in his development this season. Both of his goals were of top quality, a perfectly timed volley on the drop, before smashing a laser from 25 yards into the roof of the net.

LW- Alfred Hess – South Hobart

On the opposite flank there was Hess, although he runs so hard there might not have been a blade of grass he didn't cover at some stage at Mitsubishi Park. Two goals and another industrious display from a player who has been a revelation for South this year.

ST- Adam McKeown - Hobart JEEP Zebras

Showed his profound goal scoring instincts with a clinical display against what was the previously the competitions stingiest defence. Somehow ghosted in between the tall timber to head his first home from a free kick he earned, before finishing with aplomb as the ball rebounded to him for his second.
