How long have you been playing for?
Since I was 10 years old. I’m 23 now.
Who do you look up too as a role model?
I play in the WNBL so have come across a lot of good players that represent Australia. Also imports like Kelsey Griffin, one of my toughest opponents from Bendigo Spirit but there are so many players you can name.
What would you say your absolute goal is for basketball?
Adelaide is my home. I’ve been playing in Melbourne for the WNBL for the Melbourne Boomers but I think down the track I’d like to represent Australia, make more squad teams and maybe one day play in the WNBA or Europe.
What has been your biggest challenge as a basketball player growing up?
I’ve been lucky to get picked up and play in the WNBL and I went through the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). I did two and a half years at the AIS in Canberra and there were a lot of ups and downs as I was growing as a basketball player. I then went into the WNBL and I think it is the same thing, you don’t always have a good day. It’s always up and down and you just got to stay with it because a lot of it is mental. You have a lot of adversity at times whether it’s injuries, things don’t go right or you don’t have the best season of basketball but you know you’re going to play again next season. I think for me as a young player still, I’m 23 but is to keep being consistent season after season.
