Kirsten Jamieson delivered a season’s best six goals as Olympic FC Women ran riot over Sunshine Coast FC Women 9-1 at Goodwin Park.
Jamieson struck five times in the closing quarter hour as Fire ran out of puff against their opponents after entering half-time locked at a goal apiece.
Jamieson’s incredible haul was complemented by a brace to Lorena Maggio in her first match of the campaign after linking up with Olympic from Westfield W-League club Adelaide United.
The result marks a third straight win for Olympic this season – all at their home ground – and marks the first time they have beaten Fire in PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Women’s competition.
It also extends Fire’s winless start to the season for four matches and consigns them to second-last on the table entering the Easter break.

What They Said
“I think as a whole the team deserves all the glory. If we couldn’t go forward, we go back. If we can’t go left, we go right. Whatever we have to do we just make it work. I think it’s the strongest performance so far.“ – Kirsten Jamieson, Olympic FC Women
“A lot of positives to take out of that. We had a great (end) to the first half. We finished strongly and managed to get an equaliser after going down one-nil. Unfortunately come the second half we weren’t able to continue on with that fighting football – a few heads dropped and we weren’t able to be in the contest as much as we would like.“ – Craig McGregor, Sunshine Coast FC Women coach
