Brisbane Roar Youth demonstrated resolve beyond their years to overcame an early send-off to record a solid 1-1 draw with SWQ Thunder at Cleveland Showgrounds.
Young Roar were dealt a blow only 11 minutes into the contest when defender Aaron Reardon was dismissed, but took the lead midway through the opening stanza when Jesse Daley converted from the penalty spot.
However, Thunder’s superior numbers eventually told as Jackson Haussler netted his first PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues goal to secure a share of the points and a return to the top half of the table.
The result extends Young Roar’s unbeaten record against Thunder to five games since 2014, but sees them still in search of their first win of the campaign in eighth position.

What They Said
“I think the overall mood in the camp after that will be disappointment. I think this week when we look back and reflect we all dug in and worked hard for each other. But still there’s a lot things to work on.“ – Jesse Daley, Brisbane Roar FC Youth
“We’ve got four points from the first three weeks which is double our points from the last two years. The boys have been positive throughout the three weeks. Even though we got a loss last weekend, the training all week was good. We’ve got a good group of lads this year and I think we can push forward and do good things. “ – Keagan Sheridan, SWQ Thunder FC
