NEWS: Coaches and Assistant Coaches sought for Geelong Rep Squads at 2016 Country Championships
GOFC on behalf of the Geelong Region Football Committee has been delegated with the task of administering six Geelong representative squads for the 2016 CLFA Country Championships in Bendigo, to be held on the Queens Birthday Weekend in June.
According to GOFC Coaching Director, Pete Bradley, GOFC is seeking six (6) coaches and six (6) assistant coaches to work with the Geelong representative squads in the lead up and during the tournament on the weekend of 11-13 June, 2016.
“All coaches must have a current Skill Acquisition licence (as a minimum) and a current working with children accreditation,” explained Bradley.
“The squads involved are the U12 Boys and Girls teams, the U14 Boys and Girls and the U16 Boys and Girls teams. Any player registered with a non NPL club in Geelong (i.e. a team competing in the local GRFC competition) is welcome and encouraged to trial,” he added.
ROLE OF HEAD COACH:
- Manage the Trial process (2-3 sessions mid-April, dates and venue to be confirmed)
- Plan and deliver 5 training sessions in lead up to Tournament (one session per week commencing 9th of May, other training nights TBC)
- Coach the team at the Country Championship Tournament (Sat June 11th – Mon Jun 13th)
ROLE OF ASSISTANT COACHES:
- Assist the Head Coach with five training sessions (one session per week commencing May 9th, nights TBC)
- Assist the Head Coach with the rep team at the Country Championship Tournament (Sat June 11th – Mon Jun 13th)
Remuneration to cover time/accommodation and expenses is provided for both coach and assistant.
