Ellis Healing wasted no time making an impression on the QBE Night Series with four goals in Armadale’s 4-1 crushing of ECU Joondalup in a Pool B clash at Percy Doyle Reserve last night.
The former Tranmere Rovers youth player hit a first-half hat-trick and netted again just three minutes into the second period before Josh Booysen scored a consolation for ECU at Percy Doyle Reserve last night.
Stirling Lions have the only 100 percent QBE Night Series record and stayed top of Pool B after a 3-0 win over Perth SC at Macedonia Park on Friday.
Brodie Martin opened the scoring after just six minutes before Robert Petkov double the advantage on the stroke of half time. Daniel Micevski completed the scoring five minutes from time.
Balcatta blew a 2-0 half-time lead, built on goals from Debaba Mtwale and Patrick Sara, to lose 3-2 to Sorrento, whose fightback was instigated by Jordan Brown’s goal eight minutes after the restart. Jason Mirco drew the Gulls level in the 72nd minute and Alex Morgan scored the winner with nine minutes to play.
Cockburn City are top of Pool A on goal difference after a 3-1 win over defending champions Floreat Athena.
Phil Arnold had given Floreat a first-half lead at Inglewood Stadium but Cockburn came roaring back after the break with a double from Angel Andres and a goal from Reuben Tristao.
Rory Feely scored early for Subiaco in their 2-1 win over Perth Glory. Nic Talimdzioski equalised for Glory but Carlin Feely scored the winner in the 74th minute.
Brian Woodall’s goal in a 1-0 win over Bayswater City kept Inglewood United hot on the heels of Cockburn.
